Performers' public liability insurance protects you if a member of the public is injured or their property is damaged during your performance or activities. This includes shows, rehearsals, set-up and pack-down periods. It covers legal defence costs, compensation, and medical expenses resulting from third-party claims.
Annual premiums start from £81.44 for £1 million public liability cover. The final premium depends on your performance type, cover level, and any optional additions such as employers' liability. You will see the full price before purchase when completing your quote online.

Your policy will cover you for performances at multiple UK locations during the insured period. There is no need to declare each venue in advance, provided your activities remain within the agreed description of your performance type.
Our performers' public liability policy does not automatically include cover for equipment. However, we can offer separate cover for portable instruments, sound systems, and props against theft, loss, or accidental damage. Let us know if you’d like a quote for equipment insurance.
Yes. You can take out the policy in your legal name, trading name, performance group name, or registered company name. This ensures it matches the name used in contracts or with event organisers.

Yes. If you employ assistants, crew members, or support staff, you may be legally required to hold employers’ liability insurance. We can provide this alongside your public liability cover. Just let us know during the application process.

Standard performers’ public liability policies provide cover for activities within the UK. If you need protection for performances in Europe or further afield, please contact us, as we may be able to arrange extended territorial cover depending on your performance type and destination.
Yes. Your cover includes rehearsals, warm-ups, sound checks, set-up and pack-down, as long as these activities relate to your insured performance. Many incidents occur before or after the main show, so this is an important part of your protection.
Yes. If you run teaching workshops, masterclasses, or interactive sessions connected to your performance type, these are usually covered under the same policy, provided the activities fall within your declared business description. For higher-risk workshops, we may ask a few extra questions to make sure everything is properly covered.
Yes. Many policies include cover for livestreams, online shows, virtual workshops, and remote teaching where you are performing or instructing from the UK. Claims can still arise from your activities or advice, so it is important that virtual work is included within your cover.
Public liability insurance covers you if your equipment or props cause injury or damage to someone else’s property, but it does not insure the items themselves. If you need cover for loss, theft, or accidental damage to your instruments, sound equipment, costumes, or props, we can arrange separate equipment insurance.
Yes. Children’s entertainers such as magicians, party hosts, balloon artists, character performers, and activity leaders can be covered, provided appropriate supervision and safety measures are in place. Some higher-risk activities may require additional underwriting information.
Yes. Your policy can cover performances at private houses, theatres, pubs, clubs, festivals, corporate events, schools, community halls, and organised outdoor events. You do not usually need to list each venue individually as long as your activities remain within your declared performance type.
Most performers select between £1 million and £5 million of public liability cover. Smaller venues may accept £1 million, while local authorities and larger events often ask for £5 million or more. You can choose the limit that best suits your work and the requirements of the venues you perform at.

Yes. If you accidentally damage flooring, fixtures, staging, or other property at a venue during your performance or related activities, this can be covered under the public liability section of the policy, subject to the terms and conditions.
Public liability insurance does not cover cancellation fees, loss of earnings, or non-refundable venue costs. It is designed to protect you against injury and property damage claims. If you need event cancellation cover, please contact us to discuss possible options.
