What’s Not Covered

Below is a summary of the key exclusions in our Event Liability Insurance. Please refer to the full policy wording for comprehensive details.

Events Held Outside the UK

We do not cover events taking place outside the territorial limits of the United Kingdom, or events where a policy has been purchased for a UK-based event but substantial parts or the main activity occur outside the UK.

Professional Indemnity & Design Faults

This policy is not intended to cover claims arising from professional advice, design faults, or failure of performance. If the actual service you provide (such as sound engineering or staging design) fails, you may need a separate professional indemnity or errors & omissions policy.

Property Belonging to the Organiser or Never Left Their Care

We do not cover personal or company property owned by you (the organiser) that remains in your care, custody or control unless you have taken out the optional equipment cover add-on. This includes items such as electronics, instruments, or stock.

Events Involving Certain High Risk Activities

High risk activities including, but not limited to:

Professional racing or motor sport events (vehicles powered by internal combustion) with more than 50 attendees

Use of explosives or unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) unless explicitly agreed in writing

Stunts involving falls from height over 3 metres unless supervised and certified safety equipment is used

Night-club or discotheque events where alcohol is the main activity and attendance exceeds 2,000 without prior insurer approval

Known Circumstances or Events Cancelled Before Cover

We won’t cover cancellation, postponement or other loss stemming from facts or circumstances you knew about before the policy inception, or where the event has already been cancelled or postponed at the time the policy was arranged.

War, Terrorism (unless endorsed) and Nuclear Perils

Standard cover excludes losses resulting from war, invasion, acts of terrorism (unless an endorsement has been purchased), or nuclear perils. If you require these extensions, please contact us for an enhanced quotation.

Losses Arising from Pollution, Asbestos or Silica

Claims arising from mould, contamination, asbestos exposure, silica dust or long-term pollution are excluded unless caused by a sudden insured event such as storm damage or fire and the policy specifically covers that.
